This month I am working with Homebase who are helping me achieve the colourful garden I desire.
As soon as spring arrives I’m constantly searching for all things bright and vibrant. I love to have a colourful home and want to create the same in my garden.
ADDING COLOUR WITH FLOWERS
First things first was to visit my local Homebase store where I was completely spoilt for choice. There was a huge selection of seasonal flowers and summer furniture. One of the easiest ways to add colour to your garden is with flowers either in your boarders, hanging baskets or plant pots. This is always my first step to add colour. All flowers are available in store.
ADDING COLOUR THROUGH FURNITURE AND ACCESORIES
Homebase is a leading home improvement retailer in the UK, they have all the items you need whatever the project. Whilst in store, I picked up a few plain plant pots and baskets which I planned to upcycle. Even though I want my flowers to be an array of colour, I wanted to stick to one colour for my hanging baskets and pots. Homebase has a wide selection of outdoor paints and sprays in store for you to choose from.
I chose a candy pink Spray paint for the baskets and pots, this is a simple and cost effective way to add colour to your garden.
By choosing one colour for my baskets and pots, I was able to break up the colour allowing for a much more varied selection of flowers and plants.
FAMILY LIVING SPACE- BRINGING THE INDOORS OUT
This decking area completely overlooks the garden and is a great family space when the children are playing outside.
I wanted it to feel like I was bringing the indoors out and have sourced items from my home to compliment these beautiful Homebase bamboo chairs. Let me tell you it was love at first sight when I originally saw these chairs. A lot of garden furniture can look like it’s for the garden only but I saw the versatility in these chairs. Bamboo is Currently on trend and I can’t see this trend going anywhere fast.
I could easily see me using these as an occasional chair in a bedroom or dining room so they wouldn’t be restricted to summertime use only. I’ve also added pops of colour through accessories shopped from my home and surrounded by flowers all purchased in store at Homebase that will bloom in colour.
