WHATS THE BEST WAY TO KICK THOSE JANUARY BLUES IN THE THE BUTT…. WITH A DINING ROOM REVAMP OF COURSE!
Its that time of year, Christmas feels like a distant memory. It’s dark, cold and rainy so to brighten the mood I’m going in for a full dining room revamp.
THE STORE THAT IS YOUR GO TO, TO BUY CHEAP SNACKS AND CLEANING PRODUCTS.
BUT IS IT?
POUNDLAND HAS STARTED TO DIP ITS TOE INTO THE WORLD OF HOMEWARE AND HAVE PRODUCED SOME REAL GEMS.
WHO REMEMBERS THE ZEBRA AND CACTI VASES? I REST MY CASE.
On a recent Poundland dash of my own to buy barney bears and toothpaste I was stopped in my tracks. For months I’ve lusted after the textured glass vase from H&M Home. Don’t get me wrong with the vase range costing under £20 it’s hardly breaking the bank.
Poundland have now released a range of candles in a very similar design to the H&M Home vase and you guessed it they only cost a pound.
Yes my heart did skip a little beat with excitement thinking of all it’s uses. My only issue was, the candle wax. I’m impatient for one and two well there is no two I’m just really impatient and I want to use the jar ASAP.
I’m a custom to burning the candle at both ends but I didn’t have the first clue how to remove a whole candle wax from the jar.
After chatting with my Instagram followers about the subject and a bit of googling I came up with my plan. Now it’s time to share this information with you.
THERE ARE LARGE ONES,THERE ARE SKINNY ONES, THERE ARE SHORT ONES, THERE ARE LONG ONES…. WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT? HALLWAYS OF COURSE.
The last hallway update was late 2018,when my love for Farrow & Ball Hague Blue was at its peak. Admittedly I still have big love for Hague Blue but I do become bored very easily. Instagram and Pinterest can often make you feel like a child in a sweet shop. I’ll have one of those and one of those and before you know it you’re decorating the same space multiple times a year.
I started to question myself, if you love Hague Blue then why change it? Why not find ways to update the space without decorating.
When the online print store Posterlounge contacted me about a collaboration I saw this as a perfect opportunity to use prints as a way to update this space, more on that a bit later.
IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR…. AND THE BUSIEST!
I have finally started my Christmas shopping and where better to shop than Tk Maxx.
Shopping in TK Maxx is always such a pleasure, I love how all the items are in their designated area so I can shop with no stress. I can literally spend ours walking the aisles looking at what they have to offer.
Tk Maxx house so many big labels at small prices and because I have so many people to buy for all at different ages and with different interest I needed to visit a store I could buy something for everyone whilst not breaking the bank.
I also like to try and find items that are a bit more unique, TK Maxx certainly didn’t disappoint when I was looking for something a little bit different.
Gallery walls…. we all want one but we also don’t know where to start. I don’t know about you but once I think about how much time it takes to collect prints, the cost this entails and then the actual gallery wall layout your left feeling rather overwhelmed.
I’m going to talk you through how I created my first gallery wall on our stairwell. This will be in two bite size blog post chunks to give you my hints and tips on creating a fun, eye-catching gallery wall that won’t break the bank.
I’m here to talk Mother’s Day gift guide, the day is fast approaching (Sunday 31st March to be precise) and I thought I would share with you my Top 5 alternative Mother’s Day gift to buy. Every mother loves a potted plant or a bouquet of flowers with a box of chocolates but sometimes you have to write a blog post to share what you want, so that’s what I’m doing and I will probably forward this on to family for my birthday this summer.
Here is a selection of items I am completely lusting over at the moment, all in completely different price brackets for whatever your budget. Let’s dive in.
For those who have followed me for a while would know I love to play with colour. The living room has needed a refresh for a while now. My style is very eclectic and I love to clash colours with pattern but the problem I faced was how was I going to introduce colour when I had so much colourful furniture.
Instagram is exactly that, he takes you out gives you all the love and attention leaving you completely committed then one day drops you with no reason why! You think you’ve found what works it’s all going well then suddenly you was robbed by someone called the algorithm and your left wondering what you did wrong. Read more
